Upadate.

I got a call from the body shop today.
Him "This is whoever from Cole Chevrolet, and I have some great news for you.
Me "What?"
Him "We are gonna be able to fix your truck."
Me "So what's the good news?"
Him "Sir your truck can be repaired. It only has $12,500 of damage."
Me "So it's not totaled then?"
Him "Not even close this truck would need about $20,000 in damages to be a total loss. We should have it finished in about 6 weeks."

Needless to say I am highly disappointed

What year is your truck? If its nearly new then most insurance companies will not want to total it out. The general rule is if the cost of the repairs including labor surpasses 75% of the vehicle's value then its most likely totaled. Did your airbags deploy? If not then theres less a chance of it being totaled. Sheet metal and paint isnt as big of a deal as the cost of airbags, diagnostics, and replacing a steering wheel or dashboard (if the pass airbag deployed). The body shop isnt the one who decides if a vehicle is totaled, your adjuster is. What you should do is make sure that the adjuster figures out the final cost because once repairs start, they will most likely go on with it even if it takes weeks.
If your truck is worth say $19,000 or more, then its probably gonna get fixed.

It is a 2004 F-250 6.0L Diesel. No, the Air Bags did not deploy. When I damaged the front of my vehicle I was sliding sideways so it did not trip the crash sensors. My insurance compay is USAA and they sent a independent appraiser to look at my vehicle.
