ok so here's so new stuff.....i pulled the axle out again for like the 9th time.....well i got a little curious because there are some fragmented teeth where the axle slips into the tranny....the inner teeth on the axle that slide past the spring clip groove are missing

are those teeth required to keep the axle in place?

if so how much would it cost to get that part of the transmission fixed? the axle in that picture is BRAND new....i drove the car for about 1 minute before the axle popped out..and now thats what the axle looks like

also, are these grooves supposed to be there?

i would get another axle, and try that. If you still have the problem then you have problems somewhere else. Like 70$ from autozone with a core which you have.

question....if the motor mounts are stock (ie the original CX mounts) could that cause the axle to pop out? which mounts should i use? would the LS/Si motor mounts position the motor differently? could camber pull the axle out?

you need to know was the car automatic
does the motor sit flush (level) under the hood then you need to stop worrying about the tranny its alright you need to see the angle the axle is at when the car is at ride height then you need to make sure its the right axle lenght, splines, and hub diameter. the mounts aren't your problem unless the motor is either off to one side or the other or out of level or for that matter moving too much when you shift gears or let out on the clutch also i would suggest cleaning the old axle grease of the sub frame so in the future you can see if your axle boots are leaking or split that will terminate the lifespan of the joints.

all 92-00 d/b series motors use the exact same mounts, the only difference between the motors are the actual brackets that bolt to the motor/mount. the mounts aren't it. you have the wrong axles in the car. get the correct passenger side axle and you should be ok.

I had that problem with a CRX with a ZC swap, the driver side would pop out if I made a left hand turn, come to find out the cars K Frame was bent. I replaced that and it was corrected.

are the axles supposed to be almost all the way stretched out in the boot when everything is bolted up ?
