Navy man killed in weekend motorcycle crash
A Navy man died Sunday after losing control of his motorcycle while he illegally passed two cars, Va. Beach police said.
Rolle J. Thurson, 20, was pinned beneath a car that had been driving in the opposite direction in the 1400 block of Sandbridge Road.
The crash happened around 7:30 p.m.
Thurson died at the hospital.
Police say he was going west, went into the eastbound lane but couldn’t get back before sliding under the oncoming vehicle.
Authorities say speed was a factor in the crash and that the investigation continues.

Think I will ride in it. Especially being that he was a fellow brother in arms.
R.I.P. Rollie Joseph Thurston, December 31, 1986 - September 16, 2007
Last night about 7pm Rollie went head on with an SUV on Sandbridge Road, the SUV ran over his body and then he was trappen under the rear of the SUV. He was strong enough to tell me his Mother and Father's number, then he started to slip away. He was flown to Norfolk General Hospital and was pernounced dead at 1120pm. Rollie was a good kid, a good Sailor, a good man. He was new to the Hampton Roads area. He had been here three weeks and had his 2007 Ninja 600 out here for two weeks. He was stationed on the USS Carl Vinsent out of Newport News. His parents are here from Louisiana and his three siblings will be flown here in the next few days, from there they plan to take him back home to Louisiana. Please everyone Pray for him and his family. We never know when we might have our last moments, so make every moment as precious as possible.
