My experience with VIP Garage...
So I found myself driving home late from sterling, VA alllllll the way to Newport News, VA because of the guys at VIP that washed my car and filled up the tank for me! I had to do 60 on the freeway because of the advice Meticulous Marti(meticulous because he is very thourough with his work) gave me. Well, now to the nitty gritty. I had VIP Garage install my AMS 2.3L Stroker, Shep Tranny, +1mm Valves, springs, and retainers, new oil pump, water pump, timing belt, ACT clutch, flywheel, clutch cable, and AEM UEGO!!!! It went in late april, but the machinist f*$#ed the block up, so it took alot longer than expected, but VIP came through and I was riding in a rental for a while, but no biggie. Marti was very cool about everything, and I was patient. Now it payed off, I got my car and ALL of those goodes listed above and it is running outstanding! I already told Marti tht Im buying their GT35r kit after my deployment, so stay tuned for some dyno results from the man himself, Brad at ISP! Thanks VIP Garage, you all are amazing guys that are dedicated to your work and all around cool guys!!! See you soon!

Well, the initial breakin was completed 2 days ago, so I changed my oil and tranny fluid yesterday, went smooth. Last night me and Ben(bennycnu) did some initial tuning and learned something aboutmy new stroker. It wants less timing than my stock 2 liter. I only took it to a safe 16psi until I can get a good friend of mine to finish it off at 27-28 psi. There was no knock in 3rd and 4th, but my AFRs were in the low 10s(like 10.2 at redline in 3rd).

BTW 9:1 compression ratio?
8.5:1 comp ratio. I was retuned on 93 pump at 22 psi with AFRs being right around 11.3. I noticed I hit peak HP at 5200rpm!!!! Used to be 7100rpm. After 5200rpm, the turbo cant breath as much air as the engine is pushing, so the turbo just gives up after that. Time to upgrade...

oh so that was your Evo? You live pretty damn far from the shop lol. I'm glad it all worked out for you, it sounded like the whole motor thing was quite a situation.
