I scrape and I'm a stock height
You definately need to know where to slow down and where you can go fast. Also know what parking lots you can pull into and what ones you CANT, you will see where others have failed horribly by the large gouges carved into the tar

.....i am thinking about coilovers or springs...i'm debating.......
and as for leaving the car at home....it makes it easier to get home whenever i need too....incase i want to see my family (my mom)....or incase they need me sometime since my mom can't drive...and my dad just can't take off off work to bring me home

bringing your car as a freshman is fine so long as your willing to risk leaving it in the cage for weeks at a time... a few cars were broken into last year which would make me hesitate to have to leave my car there.
as for suspension, go with a nice coilover system, so if you find yourself scraping over everything you can just raise it back up a little bit.

Im gonna be at VT next semester too. My car was safe at GMU last year, but i also parked next to the police station every day. I dont know how much different it is out there. My car is lowered but im not worried. Im not even sure if im gonna have my car down there all the time.
