im pretty sure the type r motor has a higher compression which is worse for boosting not sure if thats what he meant but thats why most people dont use them for turbo
True, but if the intake temp is kept low and with some careful tuning, a whole lot of power can be found.

I think he changed the pistons to lower the compression homie maybe the crank as well. It made 457hp. And its a good set up.
