ive had my NA 300zx for over a year. lots of shit goes wrong with the engine electrical, but i wouldnt trade it for the world. 7k for a TT is a awesome deal.

i'm by no means an expert, but i've owned 13 tt's from '90-96. i built one to 700 hp. I've seen just about every kinda problem, and i will agree with everything everyone has said thus far. Your biggest problem is "age". The car is old, very old at this point. Parts, especially used parts, are not abundant and they will cost you in the long run. As far as the z, that engine gets "9" out of "10". Super dependable, will run forever if you maintain it. Definitely will have issues with wiring due to the heat buildup around the wires. And "90" was the first year, so it has all the issues that any first year model will have. Now, everyday driving is fun and fast, but this car sucks in bad weather, lots of torque to the rear wheels is not the best thing on slick roads. They made improvements in '92. My suggestion is buy one closer to the latter years....'94-96 and try to get as low mileage as you can. $7k? Naw....i'd pass.
