I guess you compeltely missed the banner on the forums

Talk to Carl, he'll work something out with you. Even if you join at the NN gym you can still go to any the Hampton Roads locations.

back home i lift at Body Structures on Battlefield, small place i guess, but seriously some of the best staff ever. everyone is helpful there to give you a spot and even though it's never that packed in the afternoon everyone (even others there lifting) still will say hi at least acknowledge you when you walk in.

honestly with some of the shit said in this thread about people at golds makes me not even want to give it a chance when i'm finally in chesapeake for good.

She said go ahead and work out i'll hold your keys, let you work out, think about it and let me know if you want to sign up. So me and my brother went and worked out. Then went to talk to melissa about signing up. She told us we had to sign up for a whole year or pay a nonrefundable 150 to join and 35 from month to month. So we were like wow well we are going to shop around and maybe we'll come back. We really like your gym but it seems a bit pricy. So she keeps like trying to make us sign up right then saying things like "whats there to think about dont you think you should work out everyday for the rest of your life whats a one year commitment." so eventually we get her to hand us back our keys so we can leave and this BITCH has the nerve to say waste of my time under her breath. Talk about shitty customer service. She made up my mind right there about signing up.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience at Gold's Gym with Melissa. i know after i tell her about your experience and how she handled the situation she will regret it and feel bad. I don't want to make excuses for another person but Melissa is a great person. We are commission based. She might have had a bad day and when people don't join what we believe to be the best product in hampton roads it gets frustrating. of course we try to look at the situation from the customer stand point. once again i don't want to make excuses for her. i will bring this to her attention though. I hope you enjoy your experience at the Y and i am happy to hear that you did join a gym versus giving up on health and fitness as most people do. should your fitness and health needs change and/or are not met/achieved at the Y please come see me in newport news.

We have a standard rate of $43.99 per month with a $1 to join

OR

$35.99 per month with $149.00 to join.

our rates are locked in for life while other gyms increase your rates year after year..won't mention names.

our corporate/student rate is given if asked for which is $39.99 with a $1 to join.

very simple..no gimmicks..no haggling.. elminates bad customer service and keeps the focus on the gym's amenities and services which for 3 years in a row we are #1 as awarded by the Daily Press "Best of Peninsula".

I love golds
the gym is always clean people are always there to help and plenty of equipment. The GM i believe at Chesapeake actually stopped what he was doing to draw up a workout plan for a friend who was trying to cancel his membership, now he works out like everyday. And to Carl and TTE for all of the charity work. I always had a blast on the Old School Poker Runs

Sucks about your experience, i can speak for the NN Golds, they are awesome. People like Carl at NN make it worth while, he has taking time out of his day to help me out many of times, and helped with meal plans etc, all free just because he likes to help people help them selves IMO. Anywho, try to enjoy the Y, i tried joining the Y off magruder one time and they were the rudest assholes ever, i told them they sucked and left.

I know what you mean man. The salespeople at CB Lexus where I used to work (lot attendant) made sure to be patient. After all, not every customer is going to buy a Lexus so you can't assume they will. However, when dealing with some rich mofo's the salespeople would be there all Saturday (best sales day of course) with one set of people and then they would not buy. That is a waste of time, but a few hours is definitely not.
All sales should be patient in cars, once you have a good customer, you can count on them at least coming back to look for another car later on.
