STi in my opinion.

the Evo is the better bang for buck car though, that has been proven.

ok here are a few things I've noticed over the years....
I'm sure I'm missing alot ... but here ya go...

Both
AWD
Turbo
BIG WINGS (no wing on EVO RS, small lip spoiler on Sti Limited)
Momo Steering wheels.
5x114 wheels (5x110 on 04 Sti's)
Brembo Brakes
Great aftermarket support
Intercooler sprayer
BBS wheels (Enkei on EVO GSR)
HID Adjustable Headlights (HID on certain EVO Models depending on year)
recirculating valves instead of blow-off valves.
come with altezza style tail-lights, but can be swapped out.
can use ECUFLASH and Tactrix cable.
Get horrible gas mileage. PREMIUM GAS (17-22 depending on driving habits)
Expensive to maintain
Expensive to insure
Aluminum Hood
Hate to be driven slowly. (ie... less than 25mph)

Evo
2.0 Liter
Inline 4 Cylinder
Strong Engine
Weak Clutch
Aluminum Front Fenders
Higher Reving Engine
Bigger Turbo
Recaro Seats
Yokohama Advan A046 235/45/17 on 8" wheel
Moonroof on GSR model
Electronic Center Diff on MR
Nicer sounding stereo
Rear Window wiper
Framed door windows
Nicer arm rest.
Smoother shifting
5 speed GSR
6 speed MR
Bilstein shocks on MR
KYB shocks on GSR
Roomier
Quick steering
Wing on 03-05 models have clear gel peeling problem after a few years.
03-05 Brembos brakes have clear coat peeling problem (end up looking pink)
Evolutionm.net

Sti
2.5 Liter
More Displacement
Boxer Engine
Strong Engine , Transmission and Clutch
More Horsepower and Torque
Cruise control
Bridgestone Potenza RE070 225/45/17 on 8" wheel (7.5" on early sti's)
Electronic Center Diff
Nicer Gauges
Nicer Temperature Controls
Shift Light/Beep
Annoying Seatbelt Beep
No sound system on 04 model
UnFramed door windows
6 speed
Can make a u-turn without 3 lanes.
Subaru spent about $100 dollars more on the interior
Studdering problem from factory on 07 Models.

I personally would choose the STi over the EVO based on TomsSound's little review.

Either way.. you'll love the car.
Ear to ear smiles everyday.

Really you need to drive a car. Because based on what I wrote someone said they would choose a Sti... However, I've driven both... I'd still stick with the evo.. all day long.
There is some things you can't quantify by reading stats.. or opinions.

oh..and both can be big money pits
