And as for it being Americanized, we were two of the few Americans there. Both staff and patrons. Seems Indians should know Indian food.
Yeah, we do know our food and it's easy to tell when it's not authentic and made bland. Like I said, DCs the closest to halfway real Indian food.
My comment about it being Americanized was referring to the food not staff. As for the patrons, maybe the ones you saw were trying it out for the first time, just like you. Being there didn't make them Spice of India vets.
Glad to hear you enjoyed it., It still doesn't change the fact that it's a joke for Indian restaurants.

If you like meat and maybe being a little adventurous (chicken hearts, not that bad compared to some of the other stuff I have ate with other ethnic foods) I would recommend it.
So whats your favorite Indian place around here? I still haven't found one that is not completely americanized like nawab and the likes of those.

It definitely sounds good. I had never heard of the place before.

My mom's kitchen. Seriously, like you I have yet to find a good one around here. Unfortunately there's not many places to pick from.
What's your favorite dish?

I love just about anything.
Naan bread and some Tandoori Chicken with some curries over rice.

What about rajput in ghent? Don't know about authenticity (and many names for the dishes) but i dig their tofu. Hmm might be a good idea for lunch today.

Very bland and americanized, just like the rest.
I am not saying that the food is bad, just not the real deal.
I need more spices... At least when I go to Thai places around here and tell them I want it hot they can do it. Most Indian places won't even really kick the heat up that much. Much less carry some of the more off-beat dishes.
