You made the wrong choice is what we're telling you.
First of all, RWD>FWD. Now that I've got that out of the way they're both nice cars but you get what you pay for. Having sat in both I definitely prefer the interior of the BMW. Go out and drive both cars if you haven't already. If you really want an M3 why not get a 2002 or something to try to bring the price down a bit. It seems that you're set on a used car so what difference does a year or two make? If you shop around you should be able to find a pretty good deal.
I think its hilarious that every single person who makes one of these threads already knows what car they want. You just wanted to make a thread to call attention to the fact that you're buying a newish car.
3 series. The 3 is the benchmark for its class. If you aren't surpassing the benchmark, you stick with the benchmark.
oh yeah plus, friend told me a lot of the 3 series have a cooling problem, he said a fan in one of their parts goes bad after a while cause its made of some cheap plastic, i dont know what years of the 3 series that applies to or anything, haha kinda coulda payed more attention to him but we were eating so i was more focused on that

THat was a problem with the E36's more than anything, it was from the plastic water pumps
