the descriptions are what really get me...Its funny how "knocked over in the parking lot" looks a lot more like it was dropped on the interstate.

A few classified translations:
"Well maintained" = I polished the shiny bits before I took the pictures, If any real maintenance was ever done that increases the value of the bike.
"fell over in the parking lot" = Jungle fucked by the pavement fairies.
"dropped once at low speed" = there's not much left of one or more sides of the bike. If the damage was fixed, it increases the value of the bike.
"you can get those on ebay for cheap" = this is your problem now.

Blue book value is different from "Fair market value"......... And you cant get a 08 GSXR 750 out the door for 8K, not gonna happen. They may advertise and tell you $10,600, but after the Crate fee, Set up fee, TT&L and processing your at $12,500k.

I know what you are saying.. I just contacted a guy about my nephews first bike. He listed a 1992 Yamaha FZR 600 at $2500. I called and told him that if its in perfect condition I will give him $1500. He said no. I was like... dude its a 16 year old bike with less than 100 hp. People are only gonna buy this bike to learn how to ride on ... not to keep it in mint condition! Its not a collectors piece nor will it ever be. They are ugly bikes with their square brick shaped taillight. He then hung up. Its the military morons around here. They want a bike soooo bad that they will pay any price just to get it when the season hits. Cant help that the morons keep jacking the prices up.

Like the guy on here with an 97 gsxr 750 for $5500....dude what the fuck are you smoking.. you can buy a BRAND NEW 750 w/ 0 miles for 8k. so you think in over then years your bike only depreciated 3g's??? Get real. Or like the guy with the 06 busa for $10k.....dude you can get an 08 for less than that; what the fuck are you smoking? Or the guy with the 01 f4i for $5,600...Dude, your bike is only worth about $3-3,500. What part of your ass did you pull $5,500 from? And here's another thing...where do people figure they can still get top dollar for a bike with damage? Last time I checked you can't just paint a fairing and resticker it back to factory; you have to buy a whole new fairing which is generally $500. I love how people say there bike was laid down at 10mph and has no noticeable damage but when you go look at it, the side fairings are rashed, the tail is rashed, bar ends is rashed, levers are rashed, pegs are rashed, pipe is rashed, etc... you get my point. Yet the seller still wants close to retail.

I don't mean to go on and on, but this aggravates the living piss out of me. Not only on motorcycles, but cars too. I honestly just don't know where people pull this shit from. I can understand if they want retail for an absolutely flawless piece that has been serviced regularly and is up to date but for those with a million miles, and not perfect, I just don't see where they get it. Nobody ever said not to try to get a fair price, but some people are just flat out, out of the ballpark.

I absolutely agree. Prices on this site and craigslist are outrageous right now. So, I'm not going to buy until I can find the specific bike I want for a specific price range. Its the buyers who run this market. Just wait until the winter when people get more realistic with their prices.

Thats a good price, must have been someone who was desperate to get rid of it cause MSRP on the 07 was $8999.00 before setup etc.
