Dumb Inspection Question

Re: Dumb Inspection Question
it should be measured in two separate places 90 degrees apart. I used to measure "near" the middle, but all of the treads should be above the minimum. It's hard to argue with an inspector when they fail a tire, they'll just say it's a safety issue and the State Police will usually agree I believe.

Re: Dumb Inspection Question
Damn, what inspection places are you guys going to. The last one I had the guy pulled my rear tire, checked my rear brake, put the tire back on and lowered the car back down. I have never seen them check my tread in the past 3 inspections I have done. The only issue I had was the guy forgot to put one of my lug nuts back on. I got home and noticed it was gone and had to drive back for it. Not the best thing in the world, but at least I have 5 lugs.

Re: Dumb Inspection Question
I believe that you have to have a marker/signal that is visible from both the front and the side... It either has to have a front and a side marker light or it has to have a corner light. In order to pass... but if a light it there.. it has to work or you fail!
