Indeed. It is a good link.

I really like the '06 most, but if you like the peanut front end, '05 is the nicest car. It's not the rawest, but the interior update is a nice.

If you're talking STi, I'd take the '07 tranny. It's got better gearing and is just as strong. Now only if the '07 motor was worth a fuck...

Yeah, I was talkin about the STI. If I had the money, I would have snagged Justins.

I always liked my 04, at least aesthetically, as it had both the most appealing GD exterior along with the original 02-04 interior, which I prefer to the 05+.

I know some of the newer ones are available from the factory with the Fuji 4-pot brakes and 17" wheels, which is nice. I bet they still ship on the craptacular RE92s though, lol.

I don't know anything about the newer trannies being stronger, but that would be great if that's the case. I know 05+ came with double-cone synchros.

EDIT: I disagree that an STi is a waste of money. The stronger 6MT is worth it alone, as far as I'm concerned.

I hate my 2002 WRX. The interior sucks, everything is made of cheap shitty plastic. The handling isn't anything impressive - mediocre in every sense of the word. The motor is definitely the biggest plus as it is relatively quick for a stock car and easy to upgrade. As everyone has already mentioned the transmission is garbage. As far as reliability they're supposed to be okay but I've had nothing but problems with mine.

In conclusion: alright for a DD if you don't mind the crappy stereo/interior and bad gas mileage.

Better power capabilities my ass. An 06wrx has the same EXACT engine as an 07-08 STI. Sodium Filled valves, slightly higher compression pistons, same intake manifold, etc. There is no different in power capability in the 06wrx compared to ANY sti from 04-now. Weak link is the transmission which if you have the money get a PPG gear box with about 5 g's. Stis are a waste of money because, A. The Subaru 4 pots with new lines, fluid, and a decent pads, will have the same fade as the brembo package and be effecient.B. Same engine as an STI, bigger injectors stock, has AVCS, etc etc. C. Some might be saying "well what about the transmission, the handeling" Chassis is the exact damn same, STi has stiffer suspension and sway bars, all of that can be upgraded on the WRX and handle the same way as an STi, as far as the tranny the STi's gearing sucks ass, its a shame when a 470whp STi cant brake into the 11's but a wrx with 350whp can.
Now in my little rant Im talking about buying these cars new, if your looking at used cars, FUCK YEAH buy a used Sti there dirt cheap and you can get em for less then 20k. But if your buying new or slightly used and plan on going all out start with a WRX, you end up saving more money and getting more bang for the buck in the long run, (with an 06wrx). 2.0liters suck major donkey balls.

And gas mileage wise stock it was terrible, I went catless did a bigger turbo and took out all the open loop, closed loops delays and switch overs and ran 100% off my primary fuel map and had the AFR's around 14.8-15, and slightly changed my partial throttle AFR's and my gas mileage went from 25 highway to around 32. So I cant complain. Stereo does suck ass though and the little 4 inch speakers in the back doors dont help. Stock interior eh Ive got an 06 so it alright but my cars the "TR" edition so everythings cheap and I dont have auto climate control so theres abit more to be desired. If I could start all over again I would have bought an EVO like I planned to do in the first place. But I cant complain Ive learned alot from a WRX and its a GREAT first turbo car to have and I ran 12's with $500. I dont know any other 22k car brand new you can do that with.
