Renting a truck for out of state trip
What part? I'm heading out almost to the W.Va border with my F350 in a little less than 2 weeks, east of Lexington VA. If they want to crate it and drop it in the back of my truck, could haul it back to Central for a small fee to cover part of fuel and expenses.
Digital, thanks for the offer but we had a mix up in directions. He's actually in CT, but going to school in WV. Enterprise looks like the best deal. If they have some sort of hatchback, I may end up doing that.
The Enterprise here in chester has a mazda3 hatchback in the lot the other day. It may have been a customers car but Ive seen it there a few times. You can use any regular car. take the front seat out. ive done it...well for a 4 cyl engine
If it's in Connecticut, you may want to consider flying one-way then searching around for rental places needing vehicles transported from one location to another. I found my little brother a minivan from Maryland to Florida through Avis much about half the price of any other vehicle on the lot. He needed to take his gf's dog (and her) to Florida then the two of them flew back... flight was cheaper than fuel + one night for a hotel.
It's going to be an 8 cyl LT1. We were actually able to fit a LT1 block + heads in the back of my friends Jetta. I wonder if a hatchback with the seats down can hold a complete motor...

Check online for one-way rates for surrounding areas, not just and exact match. Also, consider taking the train up and then drive down. I've taken the train from Staples Mill Rd up to Berlin CT before. Easy and cheaper than gas+tolls.
