If my dick gets any bigger I wont be able to walk...

Capital, here I come...

HAHA, seriously though, people run quicker times at capital than at MIR??? I've run there a few years ago, but it seems like forever ago, and getting to that track is MISERABLE at any time of the day from Va. Also, Cecil is known for incredibly high trap speeds. There's a few cars trapping 107mph there that would trap at 103ish mph at say MIR.

I first learned how to race at Old Dominion, but I've done 90% of my racing at MIR, and you pretty much can't beat it. I'd call Mason Dixon and Dinwitty a close 2nd, track prep is usually on point and the tracks are nice. I've run at Richmond Dragway a few times... run the exact same times and mph there as i do at MIR, but the track isn't nearly as smooth, you can usually get a TON of runs on a friday night though.

My experience is that very few people actually race their cars on this site...it's mostly shit talking and stuff like that... not even very many quick cars, and those that might be quick think they are quicker than they really are since they have beaten "...X and Y from a roll on the highway"

MIR > anyother track around this area.

Thats the reason why you see the big events come every year to MIR. They keep the track in great condition, quick with clean ups, etc.

On another note...

LOL Anyone find that black dude funny that is real serious about his work when getting you to line up at the tree? I joked around with my boys and nicknamed him Radio hahahaha.

haha, that dude is awesome. You feel like john force anytime you go up there. The old white dude used to do a great job too, I haven't seen him in awhile though.

Not true. There are actually quite a few 10 second members on this board. Alot of us older heads have moved on to bigger things like houses now and don't have the time or money to race anymore. Cars have been stolen, insurance money dumped into better things or we don't feel the need to try and trash talk as much as we did when we were younger. But we're here whether or not we vocalize it as much. And no, I don't have mine anymore, i'm retired do to theft.

i'm just posting this based on experience. in the 757 area ALONE there are HUNDREDS UPON HUNDREDS of kids who show up on a satruday night to go rip the highways up. When there is a thread about a friday night street event at the drag strip, think any of those guys show up? A buddy of mine goes out there and rips 500+ whp cobras, WRX's, EVO's, SRT's...etc on the highway with an AWD car. We finally got him to hit the drag strip... managed 1 12.3 @ 115ish mph... doesnt say much for those other cars does it? Seeing a 10 second import out there on the strip on a friday night would be like seeing a leprecaun riding a unicorn

I completely understand the bigger and better things argument. I'm still young (22), and have a year or so before I'm gonna start my ful blown "adult" life (college is awesome). I'd like to think that I wont give up my love for cars when that happens. However, I do have garage access at this point and find myself driving my hatch less and less, probably once or twice a week at most now, a combination of fear of these thefts and lack of creature comforts in a mid-low 12 second all motor civic.

i know there are a handful of guys on here with some fast cars. hell, one kid on here is like 19, has built his own car and ran high 9s in it the first time out. That is a rare case however.

ok, well a 12.3 car beating up on 500+ whp cars only tells me one thing. Those guys can't drive to save their life. Down where you're at maybe it's worth it to street race. Up here we all have government jobs and street racing isn't taken lightly by law enforcement and again, we're all grown up and have our priorities right. Alot of us have been doing this since like 95 and earlier so we've got it out of our system. Track days, we go to those. Friday night is midnight madness at M.I.R. Wed night is test and tune at old dominion and there is alway a big turn out. We don't all drive imports, so it's not fair to say the turn out isn't big for members. I'm sorry you guys don't have many 10 sec cars down there. But I know of plenty of 10 sec cars out there up here in NOVA, they've already proven themselves, why should they keep coming out and hurting their cars just to say they did it once again.
