thanks all for the help....its great....i have taken plenty of before pics and pics during the dissasembly mainly for me to know where everything goes back....

think i'll have anytrouble, its a salvaged title in GA, buying off ebay shipping here, i put the bike back together to meet state req's/laws... and call dmv for an inspection then i get a "rebuilt" title ?

As far as the bringing a rebuilt vehicle to VA, as long as it is documented properly on the title, then it is fair game.

Thats so good to know. I'm not gonna run away from rebuild titles next time I'm looking for a vehicle. I wonder if insurance is higher...

the answer to that one about insurance is YES, i work in motorcycle insurance and its aweful, because ins co doesn't know the condition of the rebuild and what exactly its rebuilt to.....so the ins sucks, not sure about car but bikes it does

^really? my buddy has an 05 gsxr 750 that has a rebuilt title and pays about $60 a month for comprehensive. full covergae was definitely higher but that was also due to our age been under 25 and having a "sportbike". so if you could add some specifics as to why a rebuilt is more expenisve, i would appreciate it.

Actually, I don't have any difference on either of my bikes. Both are classified as sportbikes (the rebuilt is a 2000, the other is an '03), both are 600s, both have a $200 deductable, both have the exact same full coverage policy, and there is no difference. Well, the '00 is a little cheaper because it is older. And yes, Geico does know that it is a rebuilt title.
It might be different for me because I am older though.

The one thing I have learned about insurance is that you can take two people with identical records, ages, etc...and their insurance will be different. I have discovered there is no rhyme or reason on insurance policies...me thinks they put some numbers in a hat, pull them out, and that is your premium!!

^damn them if that's true. i guess age, race, and sex must play into their calculations as well.
