VIP Garage - Sterling, VA
Noah's Story is 100% true. And Noah while I am no longer there anymore ( you dealt with me a few times, I actually towed your car to the shop that took care of it for you I hope), and I never got paid for being there anyway, seems like I paid to work there for free and keep the doors open at the same time, if you need any assistance on you car and situation lemme know. We had some conversations at one point in which I identified that I felt you had given them too long on it to see no resolve.
His car was sitting there the day I got envolved with VIP and only got towed out due to an eviction notice based on too many cars parked in the lot, because no one else would do anything about it I got a trailer and got it to a place Noah could get it worked on, Noah was also very quiet, I'd have gone ape shit long before, I applaud your resolve and thanks for not going postal while I was there.
If you look at the BBB you'll see 3 open cases for VIP, there was another SR 240sx that went out of the shop after a LONG time being there sitting and a day later blew the engine from workmanship. One of the partners that used to do the Nissans just up and stopped working there ( I was brought in long after) causing a lot of the nissan problems and no work getting done on them as no one was experienced with the SRs.
As to the Honda side of the house the 2 resident techs are quite skilled in that dept. and I wouldn't hesitate to let either of them work on my car, Ryan and Jarret to quality work. (Both we're not around when the Nissan fiasco started either)
I'll take my Evo to DTM in Chantilly, VA.

Seems completely off topic. EVERY shop I've been to has horror stories. Even ones I haven't. My experiences at VIP Garage have almost always been pleasant, and Marti has always taken care of the trivial issues that happened with my car.
I am confirming his story based what he states here was true none the less. The outstanding issues with other customers went unresolved and ignored during my time there.
I have never had an issue with Jarret or Ryan the mechanics, they do quality work. Issues stem from the top and leftovers before by one the partners when he stopped partaking in the shop a long time ago leaving others to clean up the mess.
I am not employed by any shop.
You on the other hand have not had all pleasant experiences and you've spent hours bitching about them yourself to myriads of people on other forums.

I have been trying to stay out of this and i hate to even chime in at all. All i will say is that there is quite a bit more to the story than is being shared. It's what ever. There is no point to back and forth bickering on a message board.
Bill, Thank you very much. It was a pleasure working with you and I hope we get a chance to work with you again.

As stated ther are always two sides to every story, Marti is being the bigger man for not trying to start anything.
With that said Brian, why don't you keep the negativity to yourself. Along with your sticky fingers

What you put in regards to jba3's comment...
Any way...
This thread started out for a thumbs up for VIP garage. Lets get back on subject.
Been working with marti since 03 and have never had a problem. Look for thier shop logo on my car when the magazine hits stands in the fall.
All thanks to Marti helping me along the way

I didn't set out to start anything--I just saw some information posted that contradicted my experience, and decided to share the "second side" to that story. I appreciate Brian's confirming my account of the events, and appreciate him helping me get my car to a shop that could fix it. I can't comment on his story, as I wasn't a party to his dealings with the shop. I can tell you, however, that nothing he posted strikes me as unlikely, again based solely on my own (two years of) experience with VIP.
I would note, for anyone still evaluating VIP as a potential vendor, that no one in this thread has contradicted or taken issue with any point of my story. As I stated in my original post, these are simply undisputed facts.

Another + for the vip guys(marti, ryan). All I am going to say is I have bought things from them before and they have never done me wrong. And if I ever need anything else from them again I would not hesitate to deal with them!!!!!!!!
VIP knows their 240s and evos...but when it comes to hondas...i wouldnt let them touch a honda with a 10ft pole. sorry but the work i saw you guys do on my friends car was horrible...not to mention the 6months his car was there and still had nothing done.
