Anyhow...if you had no trans fluid in, and these problems occurred then u most likely damaged ur trans.

Also would help to post the year car and motor/trans.

I had a customer bring me a car someone else worked on and he had a cable trans...did the similar problem and it was because his clutch cable was installed too tight...

If its a hydro trans and this happened them u most like damaged it. DON'T put brake fluid in your trans...WTF?

Use a conventional oil..like exxon,or an oil "made" by your local parts store. Make sure its 10w 40 NON SYNTHETIC...try that and if that doesn't work pm and I can probably help u out.
Lmao. If its a hydraulic system which we dont know yet, because he failed to say what car it was...What causes the clutch master cylinder to put pressure to the slave cylinder? Right, Brake fluid. Thats what these guys are referring to, the actual hydraulic clutch system. Not the trannys MTF level. lol. What shop are you working at?

Read closely at what he writes mr.tatmonster.

He says he pushes down on the clutch and it won't go into gear...how do you push down on a clutch if there was no brake fluid in?? ding dong...duh u use brake fluid but what he is saying make no sense...

How do u push down on a clutch if has no brake fluid to build pressure from?? Hmmm....

Now what I was referring to was a solution to his problem...

Checking his trans fluid.

But we must know whether its hydro or cable.

What shop do I work at u say??
I don't work at a shop, but I did stay at a holiday inn express last night...

Well if thats all you were trying to do Mr Vtec2.0, then why didnt you tell him... To look right next to his PASSENGER SIDE CV AXLE where it enters the trans. There will be a 17mm bolt that you need to break loose and pull out. Fluid SHOULD come out lightly. If it does, put the bolt back in, its fine. If it doesnt, Grab some HONDA mtf if its available, if not, just use some 10w40 and fill it through the same hole with a funnel and small hose until it starts to come out. Put the bolt back in. Its topped off. You dont have to know if its hydro or cable to check the fluid level of the trans, its the same process for both. ding dong. We were obviously heading in different directions with the troubleshooting. Carry on
