You haven't started the car in 7 months, aren't using a trickle charger, and are suprised that it's dead?

If the battery was connected during that time, it will drain. There are some things that draw a small amount of power to back up non-volatile memory, like the ECU and radio, and also some other small leakages paths from connector corrosion, dirt, battery acid leakage on the case, etc.
Charge it up and see how it works, and then make a decision if you have to change something or not.
