wow i cant believe napa is so much money(i wouldnt go there anyways). i remember back in the day i got a quote to have my entire porsche motor rebuilt and it was only $500 W/ new valves and valve seals.

I can see how much my friend can do it for. He's really good. I'd trust him with my life. He's built 3 motors for me! He'd cut you a great deal if you want me to ask him.

 

don't ever get ballos to assemble an engine, I've seen 3 engines built by them and none lasted longer than 1000 miles before throwing a rod. I get my machine work done at Quality machine in dinwiddie, then assemble myself. never had any port work or anything like that done though
