car shimmies hard above 60mph??
Are the tires worn that are on the rims? Like camber wear. Different cars will wear tires different, had this happen before, and when i had new tires installed all of this went away. Just a thought!
im with BentValve, check all rubber bushings that are in the front of the vehicle.
balljoints, front crossmember bushings, anything that sounds loose, or looks weird, jack that bitch up and wiggle it.
if its tight, then check the bushings that connect to it. They could very well be torn, if not missing.
if you find something, post pictures.

I'd def. go with the alignment check. They're usually like $20 bucks at most shops.. pep boys, merchants..etc and they check all the suspension components and everything before they even do the alignment to prove the alignment would be effective. Also, if you do in fact need one and you get it done you don't have to pay for the check... most alignments are by warranty... usually around $69.99 for 90 days, $99.99 for one year, $139.99 for two years.
if it was alignment it should pull all the time and to one direction, not just above 60. A shimmy, you dont really know where its gonna go, ive had it happen. Also can be the type of tires that are one the wheels.
put the other tires on the car?
Go to tire website and check to see if the stock tires have same specs as the ones on there now, i doubt it's his car if it happened once the tires were on, both came off civics, should all be the same but something between the mount and balance isn't right? good luck though, let us know what it was when you find out!
