I just booked my Carnival Cruise for the Bahamas leaving from Port Canaveral FL on Aug 31-Sept 4th. Me and 3 friends are going. 2 are flying and me and my buddy are driving. We paid 401 dollars a piece for an exterior window ocean view. If you want to sign up for the same cruise and carpool let me know. Don't sign up for excursions ahead a time. It's cheaper to wait. We are going to ride scooters around the island and go snorkling.
I've been on royal carribean to the bahamas... it was nice... the bahamas wasn't as nice as i expected it to be.
Royal carribean .. nice ship, nice dinners, nice casino.
Then we went on Norwegian to the Mediteranean. That was a trip of a lifetime. Italy and Spain are incredible.
Norwegian ships weren't "as fancy" but nicer with the free-style cruising. At the end of the trip the de-embarkation was really much easier on norwegian than the Royal Carribean cruise. The casino wasn't as nice on norwegian, but the ship was cleaner and the service was impeccable.
IMO...
If you're going with a bunch of friends.. go with carnival or royal carribean. If it's just you and a girlfriend/wife.. then go with Norwegian.

I did Semester at Sea, which isn't exactly a cruise, but it is 100 or so days on a cruise ship.
Lots of kids were getting sick left and right, but it never really seemed to affect me, even in Cape Agulhas (South Africa) with 45ft swells, lol.
Never been on a normal pleasure cruise.

Scooters in the bahamas isn't bad. Honduras, was a different story, since there are no traffic laws and one road.
Scooters in Bermuda seem to work okay, and that's driving on the left side (i.e. UK rules). I hardly ever hear about any tourists getting in accidents and I've been there a couple times a year for about the last 15 years.
Then again, Bermuda isn't frequented by the "spring break" crowd. You're not going to have 12 drunk 19-year-olds scooting together in a big convoy there, because they just likely wouldn't be in Bermuda in the first place.
