Heads was plural because I've built several...as in more than one head was used...all with no headwork

Also if you boost it youll be good for 12's. This is a great motor to boost at 9.2:1 compression ratio. (or close to that anyway)

9:2:1 is the stock compression rate right?

so you'd rather remove a fuel tank, all interior, install a sheet metal dash, and cut your fenders for slicks....than put pistons in a block? Are you just trying to make it "look" like a race car?

Dude, just get a cheap turbo kit, run 5-10psi all day safely, with out ever touching the block or even so much a head gasket. Youll be making around 250whp and be good for low 12's. You can get a used turbo kit for $1500 or less if you look hard enough. Why do you not want boost?

Listen man, try to take some advice from people that have done this before. If your trying to save weight with gas, just put a gallon in at a time instead of filling it. If you use a fuel cell, depending on where you want to install it, you have to fun new fuel lines, buy fittings, possibly a new pump...it's not worth it. Every 100lbs shaved equals .10 seconds. Re-read that to understand fully.

On top of all that, I understand it's not your daily...but sooner or later your going to either sell it (which will be harder all cut up) or you'll get serious into racing (most classes won't allow aftermarket fuel cells)

And no, I don't consider that a race car. It's a weekend track car. Race cars are built with the intent to meet class requirements and go fast...not half ass'd, gutted cars with stock motors.
