I've made the drive from VA to NY countless times.

I always got an oil change just to be on the safe side. I never saw the point of putting tape or a bra on unless you have a great paint job and want to keep it that way. Make sure you have a spare or a tire repair kit.

I always over-inflated my tires a bit, and checked my fluids. Don't forget the doritos and red bull, necessary to every trip longer than 200mi.

I drove my Z from Houston Texas to Manassas VA in 22 hours with no tools, no extra oil, no spare, no AAA, and one pair of extra clothes, but it was a spur of the moment thing.

Drive at night. The traffic sucks, especially through New York.

Yeah good music selection is a must. Tool kit and AAA would be safe. Plenty of food.. check your tire pressure... that will make a huge difference on a long trip. Check liquids. That's about it from my end. Drive safe.

I wish.

I'll have 'protection' with me. It may not be a gun, but it's better than nothing.

What does AAA cost?

I also think I'll be right at my tires max pressure for fuel economy.
