For those wondering I am going to give a brief rundown of what happened with this car (since I dont want a bad rep):
There are plenty of people on this site who can vouch I am a straight up person.
Any other ?'s can be answered through a pm

Sept 4th
Buyer comes to look at vehicle.
Car is started to show that the far left injector is where theres a fuel leak.
Buyer is shown the rest of the vehicle.
Buyer writes out a check for $1850 ($150 below my asking price...taken off so the vehicle can be towed).
Buyer tells me check will be able to clear on Tuesday and I hand him the keys and explain I will sign the title over as soon as I cash the check.
Later that night I get a call from a fire marshall explaining to me there was a small engine fire with the car I sold that day.
Was told by the marshall that the car was started to move to the tow truck and then caught fire (buyer denies the car was started... I take no sides:shrug
Spoke with buyer numerous times over the next week working out a deal that was fair to the both of us ( I felt bad that the same day he bought the car that it caught fire so I agreed to take the price down to a final $1500 which is a steal because I spent that alone on the rims and suspension setup)
Its now Sept. 17th and I have no car and not a penny to it....just a check for $1850 and a big ass headace because I bought another car and I am about to loose a $2000 down payment and also my electricity is about to be shutoff all because I was counting on this money to clear the bank almost 2 weeks ago.....

So for the record I am not a scammer or trying to pull anything over anyones head nor trying to rip someone off. I am trying to help someone out while I am struggling with bills....and to be dead serious and not trying to throw it out for a sob story but its fucking sad that I have a kid and a wife and alot of prioritys and through all this i have lost or close to loosing the following due to this:
My cable is shut off
My electric is about to be shut off
I am about to loose a $2000 down payment I put on an expedition if the remaining $900 is not payed
I am struggling to have food on my table

I am not poor nor was I struggling to make ends meet before this. I put $2000 out of mine and my wifes paycheck to put down on this expedition due to the fact that my $1850 check was supposed to clear on Sept. 9th (at the latest). I am now only asking for $1500 and thats just enough to get my cable on, pay electric bill, and Pay the remaining balance on the Expedition.

And for the record we all have problems and I understand that which is why I am more than willing to help out when someone is in need. I am by no means saying that the buyer is a scammer or trying to rip me off....i am just simply saying that all of this have put me and my family into a huge bind and just want this all to get resolved quickly so I can get back to my life and end this headace.

As for the poster of this thread I understand you were trying to warn potential buyer but instead of assuming things I would like if you would pm me if you had any ?'s and I would be glad to answer them. I will provided more info if anyone has anymore ?'s. But the answer is no I didnt cause the fire and I didnt try to hide it I am actually knocking $400 off my asking price because this guy caught my car on fire the day that he bought it and I do have a little softspot for him in this case. So instead selling a fucked up car I am actually taking money off of my price because the buyer fucked up my car...any ?s

 

aznlyfe, if what you said IS how it happened, than i feel no remorse for the person that bought your car. they OBVIOUSLY knew there was a FUEL LEAK near HOT EXHAUST....so why the car was started EVER in the first place for a tow truck , i dont understand, and its just plain ignorant..... there is no reason why a car would need to be started to have it towed, i drive a wrecker, i know....it actually sounds to me like your giving a bit too much, but i see where and why your coming from....if it didnt happen the way you said, well.........but hope all goes well for you and your family.

ps, fuck the cable for now, you dont need it, and you could always sell games to cool stuff or something like that to help....its only material possesions...

 

Thanks...and yes I know its alot of info to give out but I have sold alot of stuff on this site and dont want this to ruin my rep on here as alot of people know that I sell legit and working items. And as for the cable I would say its cool but i was watching my Cowboys game last night (yes i am a fan of the cowboys) and the shit just cut off before the second half. But I am trying to sell my ipod touch to get my electric paid by the end of this week. But I do appreciate the input....it just sucks that if you try and help someone out that shit like this is the outcome
