Re: FS: Golden Eagle Sleeved b18c5 Complete Bottom End
I was actually curious on two things. What is the problem with running the bore like it is 86mm? Is it because of heating issues or something? I dont really know to much about over boring. I have always kept my motors close to factory bore.
Second question. Are you done racing or what car will you run now lol. Really curious
thanks

First, this block can be 81mm or any other bore size, so its not limited to 86mm.
the reason you don't want to run 86mm is:
1-there is so little room between the cylinders that the HG is tough to keep sealed. with a smaller bore, if you overheat once, it wont automatically blow the HG
2-it can crack easier since there is less material in the sleeve
3-no room to overbore if you have a small problem in the bores.
and I'm done racing.

Re: FS: Golden Eagle Sleeved b18c5 Complete Bottom End
PLEASE READ THE WHOLE POST.
I'm selling my race car, and therefore do not need my spare/old race parts. This motor is my 2007 Motor. It made 255whp with a crap head and other less than desired parts.
Specs:
-b18c5 block
-Golden Eagle HD Sleeves
-Capped off oil squirters (please do research before you freak out. It is a known fact that you do not need these when upgrading internal components)
-LS Crank (Polished and Mag checked before last assembly)
-Eagle LS Rods (Big/new style rod bolts)
-IB Wiseco Super Duper Pistons.
-ACL Race Bearings (Mains and Rods)
-ITR Oil Pump
-ITR Water Pump
-Francisco

Re: FS: Golden Eagle Sleeved b18c5 Complete Bottom End
Although it may be a proven fact that you Don't Need Oil Squirters when upgrading the internals, Why... and I stress WHY wouldn't you want to have extra lubrication in a motor that is being built for extreme use?! I mean I'm all game for more Lube, especially at High RPMs, and/or High Hp. If you were hitting on the 89mm crank, a simple Knife-Edge eliminates this issue. I don't mean to be like every other prick on here with an opinion, but to me that just doesn't make sense.
and you do not knife edge cranks and rev them. Well, you can, but dont plan on having the motor last a while.
Hope you see that is makes sense now
