Alright I got a question. If insurance totaled my bike and cut me a check. But i decided to keep the bike (less of a payout) does that mean my title is totaled or is still clear. i have this fear when I go to sell the bike, there might be some drama in the DMV. Someone said though they dont do that on bikes older than 7yrs?? Idk im puzzled. It was only totalled from a knock over. Also if it was totatled and I still have comprehensive insurance, if its stolen will they still pay me?

Ended up with Allstate for a fraction of that. A small fraction. Same coverage.
Not to bang on geico but ditto. I could've bought a new bike in a year with their full coverage. Everyone i know with a sportbike seems to come to that conclusion. With cruisers i believe it's a compeltely different story.

The problem with sport bikes being so hi with us is every day brand new policies are calling with some young kid that bought that 7-11k bike and only paid like 200 to start the policy and were paying out that 9-11 grand...it happens way to much thats why....much less with cruisers...but it still happens with them....
Hey, if we can help ! great ! if not, check back with us often...

about the totaled bike...if ins deems it totaled and issues you a check and you retain the bike, it will be changed to salvaged title, in VA you can rebuild the bike and apply for "rebuilt" title, which does take some effort at dmv, but not much, but don't expect to get near blue book when you decide to sell later on...

PS, my highest policy to day was an 18yr old kid, 3 speeding tickets one car acc and quoted an 08 ZX14, policy was 22,000 a year...

So what if it is my first bike but I state otherwise when they ask? I'm not trying to be a jackass, I don't even have a bike. But if I did get one, and they do ask me this question, I want to be prepared.

That would be insurance fraud.

Geico tried to tell me it'd be $9,000 a year to insure my bike with 1 speeding ticket on my record. Definetly told that bitch to go fuck herself.

Liberty Mutual ftw.
