Sorry I disappeared on you guys. For some reason I stopped getting e-mails when a response was posted so I assumed there were no new posts.

Door jambs were not painted - I was on a budget and the car is for driving not showing (and the repaint is in the original factory color...to a T. Which is nice because in my experience no two Nautical Blue W126's look exactly alike, even with factory paint jobs, and this one looks exactly how it used to look), so he did for me like how MB did it from the factory back in the day and feathered the door jamb to make it look like the rest of the car in color but not shiny (i.e. it's cheaper, it's not how show cars do it, but it's how MB used to do it).

To be fair to the price ($6,850), a lot of it was in repair - there was a rusted out fender that apparently had been damaged at the dealer before we bought the car new with only 12 miles on it (they had repaired it with bondo, which after 20 years has a way of giving out), one shock tower was completely rusted out, $340 was labor to replace the front and back glass which themselves totaled $1319 in parts cost, and they replaced $750 worth (thank you Mercedes Benz parts pricing) of lower molding and repainted a portion of the underbody. Oh, and there's $240 in towing on the bill (had to go back and forth to my exhaust guy - I wasn't living in the area anymore near the end so I wanted it all done so I could come down in one trip and pick it up). It was also nice to see my car sitting next to AMGs and Porsches (there is another shop that gets the areas Ferraris), and it was the shop that every exotic car dealer in the area recommended (except for Ferrari, though the used Ferrari dealer did recommend them)

I don't remember which Glasurit was used - I know he told me, though it's not on the receipt. When reading your post the number 55 sticks out in my head so that may have been it.

I'll be checking out the various recommendations. Part of my desire for Glasurit is that's what's on the car, that's what came on the car from the factory, and given how hard it seems to be to match Nautical Blue in all levels of sunlight for some reason, I want to eliminate as many variables as possible. If that's misguided thinking, oh well, it's my thinking.

I also got some recommendations from people in the MB Club - do you guys have any thoughts on these?
