track time
so is the Hyperdrive program on top of the HPDE or is it separate...i couldn't tell...if it is then i'll just do that and the Circuitcross...but i looked at my helmet and it's Snell M2005 and it doesn't look like it's approved by NASA
but i need to re-read the rules again for HPDE's and NASA-X
but i need to re-read the rules again for HPDE's and NASA-XSnell M2005 is fine for NASA-X, NASA Circuit-X, NASA HPDE, and TrackDaze HPDE... if it definitely has the sticker on the inside.

Hyperdrive is "separate but during" the regular NASA-MA HPDE/time trial/roadracing weekend. That is, you'll get the same classroom and go on the same track with the same instructors as those who register for the full weekend in HPDE1. Sometimes it is broken out and done around lunchtime, other times it's just done during one of the HPDE1 track sessions, depending upon how many people sign up. It's literally one classroom session and one track session, but the registration is separate from the regular HPDE1. Hope that makes sense.

i think i will just do that and the circuitcross...thanks a lot...so does the Hyperdrive count as me participating in an HPDE?
yeah i cant wait im going to do some autox and even ssome drifting this year. most likley just going to be using the civic for autoX cause im not ready for the 24D yet
there are so many track times with different organizations, how do you pick and choose which to attend? I'm looking to do auto-x still but want to do a couple HPDE's...i'm looking to don the VIR full course in Ferbuary but saw that there are a couple organizations doing it. I considered signing up with Tarheel Sports Car Club to do theirs since it's more local but since i signed up with NASA to do auto-x at VMP do i stay with them...this is all too confusing for a newbie.
You are welcome to join us, MVP Track Time, in 2009 at our events. I'd say find a group you enjoy driving with, and simply enjoy the track time. Happy Motoring!

i am hoping to make it out to an event or two this year. i was thinking about using the civic but i dont know how well a boosted application would do on an auto cross. i think it would be ok at vir though. i picked up a 95 cobra that i would like to play with as well. a guy i work with has a mach 1 that wants to look into some track days so this thread was right on time.
