a damn near 4200 lb curb weight is what turns me off. i could understand high 3's like the shelby, but being heavier than a shelby kills it for me. also shouldnt cost damn near as much as a shelby. other than that, i like them.

if so, it belong to my friends girlfriend. I havent seen it yet but will be when I am back in VA visiting.
Another friend of mine has a black/black/black Challenger that looks very nice. His is an SRT8 w/auto. The interior is very nice as well.

Like someone else said here, you need to go to a dealer and look at one. They are a nice car and fit a niche for those that want a fast family sedan. And with a manual, they should be a lot of fun.

With the Charger and Challenger sharing a chassis, I wonder how long it will be when someone converts a Charger from auto to manual?

Katie, If you're serious at looking at them, check out tysinger in hampton, I'm pretty sure they have at least one. If you do decide to pick one up, wait for 2009 to get the 6 speed and opt for the SRT-8. You'll be kicking yourself if don't. They're heavy and big. If you go up to one, you'll tell, theres a lot of steel. (Door panels are HUGE). Oh, and buy a booster seat

I've ridden in one and wasn't impressed. Interior sucked. It's a big ass car and there's not much room inside.

for that kind of money you could get a nice old one
it'll drive like a almost 40 year old car though

I like the looks of the new one, definitely has a presence going down the road but it is huuuuge
people always think of the old school muscle cars as big but the new one is relatively enormous

I say go and drive one and form an opinion, but for the price of a SRT-8, you might want to also check out a LS3 Vette, GT500, and possibly the new SS Camaro. They're all around the same low 40 range.
Outside of the new redesigned ram, challenger has pretty much the same cheap $20 rental car feel just like the charger and magnum but of course that's all opinion, and since you drive a ford I now understand your judgment.

No matter what, I can't ever buy a car with that kind of weight. It weighs roughly 1000 lbs more than my WRX, and that's pretty scary. It's never going to have good fuel economy, or a good power to weight ratio, so if it's ever going to be fast it needs a massive amount of power compared to a normal weight car. I just don't see the point of it, it's just a luxury car that doesn't look like one. It's going in exactly the opposite direction that car design needs to go, I don't see how it ever got the green light. There isn't any reason it couldn't have been made smaller and lighter, but they probably wouldn't sell as many because then it will be too sporting and have too small of an audience.

Anything that makes a CTS-V look light is an absolute pig.

Im more excited about the SRT-10 Version they are supposedly coming out with. 600 bhp and 560 ft lbs of torque through I believe 8+ litre all aluminum V10. But either way,its still a heavy, but nice looking vehicle.

I have another deployment coming up,and I can NOT take my eyes off of the new Pontiac G8 GT's. Those cars look so fucking sexy, even with the stock wheels.

Nothing like buying a car that expensive that can get it's butt busted by a fairly decent amount of other muscle cars on the road. At 4000+ pounds...i'll pass.
