Because the smaller 4 cyl has no power to pull/climb anything, especially if you put 33's or bigger and lift it. Some will disagree and say the 4 cyl has better gearing, true, but my buddy has had 50 diff jeeps probly and the 4 cyls are never as much fun because they don't have that extra push when you need it.

 

seriously any wrangler ive seen or been in you can burn it up off roading and then as a dd itll be fine but no as comfortable as a honda or audi also think of the MPG as a dd, but if you dont want to do any mods. but want a nice ride with decent power id get a clean teggy.

 

IMHO......I would just put the money in that. Swap it to a manual, get a good suspension set up,rims and tires ,a nice paint job and then boost or swap it. Then u still have room in the trunk for a decent system. My not be what u want to do but i was just throwing it out there.

I know u said u were bored with it but that could change with 6-7k into it.
