Just get your fenders rolled, and make sure you have a brick/piece of wood or something to drive onto if needed. Then of course the jack.

if you have to jack the car up, you have to get someone to pull up on the body so u can slide the jack under the car. pulling up in the body should give u enough clearance to get the jack under the car

3 inches is alot you most likley want to stay around 2. my civic was at 2.5 and i hit a pot hole and it broke most of the right rear suspension. and a 2x4 is about all you can use.
just my 2 cents though.
