single cam wont start...help
More about the main relay clicking please. If you're under the dash it will click, the question is whether this "click" is a hmm, buzzing, or just a single "click." Just as Fabrik8 asked: "When you say "clicking" is it clicking once, or repeatedly clicking, or randomly clicking, etc.?"
Also, you say the car will now start (when? as in what do you find you have to do if anything to get it to start) and then idle hard, die off. Sounds like a fuel pump relay to me (if the fuel pump you just put in is good of course).
Shy from that, almost everything else should be throwing a CEL. Curious, what engine (year too please) and what chassis (ie. EM1, EK, EG, etc.)?

the clicking coming from the main relay is a constant humming when the key is turned to the on position. when the car starts the clicking from the MR stops. no additional steps are required to get the car to start. yeah i had thought it may be the fuel relay as well, but that too has been replaced. the car is my buddy's 95 EG coupe with a d16z6 and basic bolt ons.

ive been sitting here thinkin about this a little more, and im gonna check the fuel pressure regulator the injectors once more this morning and post as soon as i figure out the status of those. based on all the things i have already checked/swapped out, anyone think this could just be a timing issue?
thanks again to everyone who has posted so far...i def. appreciate it

fuel pump has already been replaced. and im pretty sure fuel isnt the problem. the clicking under the dash is 100% coming from the main relay, but it even does it with one from a running car. im gonna check for spark tomorrow morning, but it wasnt too long ago that the rotor, dizzy cap, plugs and plug wires were replaced. regardless, ill keep everyone updated on this piece of shit. thanks for all the help though.
[QUOTE=TypeSTurbo;5044568]ok my buddys car was running fine, then all the sudden it cut off. we realized the alternator belt was loose, so we tightened that, charged the battery on a 2 amp trickle charge and tried again. still no luck. there is a weird clicking noise coming from up under the dash. it also sounded like there was a clicking coming from the fuel pump as well. we changed the fuel pump and corrected the clicking from that region, but it is still clicking from under the dash. it seems to be coming from the main relay so we also tried swapping that with one from a running car still have no luck gettng this piece of shit to start. it cranks over all day long, it just wont start. if you have any info that could help out i would greatly appreciate it. thanks.[/QU i had single do the same thing and it ended up being the coil in the dizzy and also check all the ground wires on the motor. Good luck dude
try raplacing the fuel filter my car was doing that and i repleaced the fule thinking it was it and it continued so i repleace the filter and it fired like every one else said check spark first its easier and then work at fuel if you need to spray some ether in the mani and see if it will fire then
