95 GSR Jackson Racing Supercharger build thread
This doesn't belong in tech... It belongs in eye candy.. Second he wasnt saying that 1200 was alot to make low 220whp... What he was saying is all the other stuff you will have to buy ontop of the supercharger to make your power goal.
A few things I would suggest to be more cost to power effective. I would suggest going S100 or even Crome being that your not going to be running anything crazy. Also I would suggest a better header... DC suck's imo (I own one) I would suggest a Hytech replica... They make great numbers. Last suggestion get bigger pics.

I would have to buy all of that other stuff regardless of the build; intake, header, exhaust, wide band, colder plugs, fuel pump, injectors, Hondata(unless I use what some come with) and a partridge in a pear tree.
The kit from Jackson Racing comes with a fuel pump as far as I know.....but I can't think of what else? Nothing if I'm remembering correctly.....so those other purchase would still have to be made on top of the 2600 price tag.
If I went the turbo route.............you're talking ALLOT pricier; but understandable due to the higher hp gains and ease of upgrades.
So far I've spent less than 3 grand total; that's the sc, rota slips, intake, muffler, header, guages, bezel, colder plugs, dsm injectors and all the misc tools and shit that I've bought here and there while working on it.
I don't feel that's allot of money when compared to a typical turbo build.......
A Garret T3/4 kit will run around 4 grand.....and that doesn't include all the extras needed to really make the build worth it. A Turbonetics kit usually runs a little cheaper.....but again; not allot of the extras needed are included.
If you guys don't think it's money that's well spent; well that's your opinion.
I would rather stay within my budget and have a streetable car with power in the full band. I don't need 400whp..............220whp is just fine with me. Hell; 180-190whp will be a ton more than I have now.

Not everyone wants a drag car. Although I'd rather have a built NA setup over a supercharger, I did enjoy driving the UKDM Supercharged GSR 99 Civic Si that my job had. IIRC it was on 12 psi, had a LSD trans and Hondata S300.
Car was VERY responsive and made a cool noise.
(p.s. idk if you know this or not. but every knock sensor that I get on a motor, I toss it on here for a quick and easy 50 bucks. with Hondata you don't need it. so don't worry about it. Just fire up the Hondata S300, and delete the knock sensor off the program.)
(p.s.s. knock sensor for hondas truely is useless)
Get a replica header over a dcsport. Unless it has the BIG collector on it. Seriously, a stock ITR header is better than the dc sport.)
Who is tuning it?

My original plan was NA; but unless I made it a 2.0 I figured the supercharger would make up that difference with maybe a little more. Plus the cost for a kick ass NA build is just too much for me right now; and I would obviously go with higher compression....which screws me if I want to boost it later.
I haven't gotten the Hondata yet; so I might as well throw the new one in there.
Basically right now I'm learning as I go and we'll see what I want to do with it after I get this done. Maybe I'll pull it all apart and rebuild the motor, or decide to do something completely different.
I was thinking about checking out Dyno Inc when I get done...............

You have mph or ets from the track?
I won't allow this to turn into a Dyno Inc bash thread. I'm not sure who is tuning for them now and who did it before but just about every dyno inc car I've seen has either a) ran like dog shit or b) smoked up the track. Now granted, from my understanding Tim and Darius are cleaning house and doing things right and I have personally seen what Tim can do. Hopefully they turn that shop around, its gonna be hard. But it's good to hear someone have a successful Dyno Inc story.
And you a Triple Trip Og triple og. I haven't heard from you in a minute Reddevil.
nice build man. I built a h-22 in my civic back in the day. I made 220whp with full bolt ons and a tune. Was a very fun car. Later I went high compression an stroked from a 2.2 to a 2.5. I can't remember what cam I went with....maybe skunk2 stage 3? been so long I cant remember anymore. Anyways 220whp is fun IMO. I just wanted to go faster later on
