Its not like California. Its alot easier to pass. Just make sure you have all your lights working, You have a Cat. And your tires are good.

Vehicle Safety Inspection. I love when people bitch.

False.

Yes, you need defrost to pass.
Lol I wasn't bitching. It passed last year with that light on, I thought it was bs that it didn't pass this year. I was just letting the OP know that it's not only CEL's that fail, it's any dash light.

That is still incorrect.

A check engine light will not fail you.
ABS light wont fail you (unless its an integrated system)
Tire pressure light wont fail you
Low washer fluid wont fail you

Lights that will fail you

Red brake warning light
Air bag light (srs)

or if the turn indicators and high beam indicator light aren't working properly that will also fail.

Just trying to clear things up, not be a dick. My shop lives by the damn book.

i am a state inspector and i work 60 hours a week doing them so i can tell you what you need to know.... defroster is actually supposed to blow warm air not just blow and as far as dash lights are concerned brake warning light, airbag light, turn signal indicators, and high beam indicator are the only lights that matter (abs light only matters on older integrated systems) now some things alot of people do not know are that when you apply your e-brake the brake warning light must come on and go out when released, on automatics your shift indicator must show park and neutral, most cars (older cars do not apply) must only start in park or neutral or on manuals they must only start if the clutch is engaged if they start without the clutch or in any other gear they fail, passenger side mirrors or now considered optional, your battery must be secure, and shit you can fail inspection if you have a nail in your tire that leaks air (they consider them a cut or a puncture in the tire).... now inspectors are human and shit some of them just don't care so unless you know 100% that everything works like it should don't be surprised if you car fails for one thing or another.... they change the rulings just about every year and they do not disclose there changes to the general public (other then online) but only to inspectors and the inspection stations so again if an inspector is a honest inspector and he tells you something fails then 9.5 times outta 10 it does
