id bet that you actually lost hp due to different timing and fuel control curves. put the stock ecu in.

It may or may not have actually gone faster. Its possible that it was all just a mental thing. Oh well, I took the P72 out and put the P2P back in.
It's not like I was being retarded about it. "When my VTAC kicks in, its fast as shit yo!! I can wax anything!!" All I did was ask a simple question. It was answered. I found some shit out. No harm done. And BTW, thanks guys for the info.

The Y8 ECU is pretty similar to the GSR ECU, the big difference being the program in them. Really the hardware is almost indentical, except for the knock sensor board and the extra output for the secondary runner control. For example, OBD1 P28, P30, PR4, P72, P74, P75 area all almost indentical except for minor parts differences and the programs they use..
You won't hurt anything with the GSR ECU, and it will probably run rich, and it isn't tuned for your engine. Hopefully no lean spots showed up that could damage anything..
Stick with the stock ECU, just like everyone else says..

Yea, that's what I decided to do. Its not like it was doing anything significant for me. Not worth chancing anything going wrong....
