And for your sanity later, use a torque wrench when you reinstall the (new) axle nut.

yeah we had a battery powered impact but it was pretty shitty. and his air compressor is broken so we couldnt use the air impact. ill deffinitely try heat and an impact tomorrow if i can get ahold of an air gun. she needs to go to MIR!!! haha thanks alot guys!

I was just kidding about the pipe. It's pretty weak. I like nice Snap-On breaker bars, they're one of my favorite tools to borrow.

they are good in the sense that when you fuck them up, you can replace them very quiclky

snapon tools are much much better from the beginning.

your gonna need air tools, the impact hammer in the impact wrench will break the nut loose much better than linear force.

i had to have three people with mine...the e-brake was set the tranny was in gear had a pipe and a 1/2 inch breaker bar and the guy in the driver seat was holdin the brakes and finaly it broke loose

just out of curiousity, was it drivable? If so, I would have brought it to a shop, and get them to spin it off in 0.5 seconds, then tighten it to something managable. I did that year ago when I needed to replace my axles. I broke a 1/2 breaker bar w/ 6 foot pipe.
