Re: d16z6 turbo build question
I wouldnt go with the 60-1, ive used the garrett honeywell 60-1 with a stage 2 wheel and hated it. I had it on the car for maybe a week. it spooled super late. I was on a stock z6 granted, but if I were you, with that low of a CR, id go with a small turbo to keep the motor in boost longer. you can still make 400hp with a smaller turbo, and stay in boost a lot longer IMO, id say go with a t04e

Re: d16z6 turbo build question
what tranny are you going to be using? i have almost the exact same setup that your talking about or did a few months ago its a bit different now. but anyways with that big of turbo and a ram horn you wont be buling boost til 4k at the least. and with that low of compression youre gonna be out of boost completely when you shift from first to second which will suck when running from a dig. i would build the head if you were going to use a turbo that size it will build boost ~1500 sooner

Re: d16z6 turbo build question
my boy had stock z6 with a 60. turbo and it def spooled late around 4-5k rpm but it made 310hp on 10 lbs by shad
it gives power just late to spool but itll be fun on interstate

These would help out alot with the compression. Also, you could perhaps use a y8 two layer head gasket.
You could always ditch the z6 head, and snag you a y8 head. The y8 head has the smallest combustion chambers, which would also raise the compression. Those rods, HG, and y8 head would put it to almost 9.0:1 CR.
