sounds like a spark/dizzy issue to me. have you checked the cap & rotor?

started doin it when i got the car

 

change the distributor and plugs and wires and fuel filter

 

i'm assuming the cap & rotor... cause he's already changed the wires, spark plugs, & fuel filter...

could be a loose screw on the inside of the distributor cap. could be the rotor just pongin around when u try to gas it :\ just a thought though

 

must have missed that, my bad! i agree a good start would be the dizzy.

 

its probably the dizzy yo. i have the same problem on mine. just been too lazy to replace it. try letting go of the gas pedal and then step on it when it happens.

sounds like a intake manifold is leaking some where or timing is off.

 

the same thing happened to me and it went away when i started using different octane of gas and the place where i got it from.
