Their headers are usually tuned for performance, not necessarily sound. The length, dia, (vol) of the runners are dependent on certain things like desired power band, displacement, stroke, etc. . . When you have a small displacement, short stroke, four valve V12 winding out, it just turns into auditory orgasms.
