Im not sure if srt4's have forged internals, but i hope for your sake its the later.

haha, then its definatly the forging material warming up.
Have you heard of a built motor with forged internals start up for the first time? there is piston slap like crazy.
sounds alot like a viper being started when its cold too. The earlier ones.

Since I installed my stereo system, i knocked one of the plugs outta the firewall, gotta cover it up better, i can feel nice cold air blowing in, and im sure that doesnt help the engine noise problem

As far as oil goes, I don't put any in the car and it still won't die.
I think it has one of those magic oil-less engines like our 86 Golf.
Yep dodge runs ATF in all new transmissions both automatic and manual. They are the only ones who make it and they use it for all there vehicles. It's a great monopoly they have going on. They only have to spend money to make one type of fluid (which saves them money) then they make it so you can only buy it from them.
