Yes the tires are star specs. I hope I like them as much after a new alignment as I did before. Hopefully the next set will last a bit longer.

Thanks for the response, and no need to apologize for being wordy. I'd rather get an explanation than just a simple answer. I doubt it could be camber anyway, the tire has to be leaned over about 15° to sit flat on the worn area.

You know Fabrik8, you should drink beer more often. You just took my answer and made sense of it, and then made the ferarri f1 team look like a bunch of third graders.

I agree that it seems to be a toe issue, although I was unaware that you would normally have toe in on the front? Is it possible that you perhaps hit a pothole or something and it knocked the alignment out? Either way a fresh alignment would most likely do you wonders. On a separate note, I would like to point out that dragging your hand across a tire is never a good idea as they can pick up sharp debris.

It still made sense to me when I read it this morning so I must have done an OK job. LOL.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Fabrik8 again.

So.... apparently the factory toe setting is 0 +/- 2mm

If I'm set to 0, something else is causing excessive tire wear. Time to go back to the alignment rack.
