Thanks. Got some help. And by plumbing I meant the vaccum lines and such.

electronic boost contollers can self adjust for boost spikes and boost creep... which can damage a turbo and the engine. manual boost controllers can't do this.

a manual boost controller can be set at 10 psi in first gear... but in fifth.. can get up to around 14 psi from boost creep. That is a large difference and can cause damage.
