Remove the drain plug to make sure water doesn't come out of the oil pan?

Drain the existing oil...would have saved you a lot of work.

I would never buy an engine or transmission from here. If you want a motor you can trust, you either have to pull it yourself or give H-motors a call.

Motor seems salvageable, noise is coming from the head somewhere it sounds like, almost like a stuck lma but much much louder. We will see how it turns out. Karmas a bitch.

I think this is the appropriate action.

although the people posting in this thread are correct, you definitely should have drained the oil and such first to see what happened. I believe you did as much as you knew and alot of it was smart, turning the motor over, pulling the vcover and such. But bottom line, if the dude lied to your face......than.....

Go beat the fuck out of him if he doesnt give you your money back, than keep the motor and rebuild it for a spare.

Thank you. Ive bought a good amount of used motors and theres normally some honesty that goes with selling stuff that expensive. Ive never drained the oil of a motor i was looking at that was out of the car already. Normally when you pull a motor you drain the oil first anyways so thats why i didnt think to check that at his house. Had i got home and thought someone left oil in it, and drained it, and texted him then, he had my number blocked anyways. Ive swapped countless motors so i took every precaution i normally take when putting a used motor in. Even pulled the plugs and turned the motor over to get oil pressure and circulation before i fired it off. Seems quite shady to me. But like i said im going to his parents with the deal and going from there.
