Cost me around $1k for their top line prep and paint. They also pulled some dents and dings out as well, some for free, some for a fee.

Go by and talk to them and check out some of the cars that come out of there. If you like then go for it.

What paint and clear did they use? How many coats of clear did they use?

I don't know what there standards are regarding this.

What you get for the amount of money that you pay probably will not be the sames as what I recieved. You need to talk to them about what it is that you want and try to work out a deal.

Well for your information most good paint jobs have at least 3 layers of clear on it. I wonder what paint maaco uses. If they even use anythign close to dupont or PPG paint. I doubt it. And they prolly only put 1 layer of clear. Thats prolly why all those maaco paint jobs end up getting eaten out after like a year or so.

OK.
I love people like you. You put my paint job down, which you have never seen, and tell me how shitty it is and how it is going to go bad in a year, even though I've got a 3 or 4 year warranty, and how they don't use decent paint or properly clear coat, even though you've not talked to them....all of this over the internet.

Your a fucking genius, I tell you.

Let me make this clear for you then. I'm not telling anyone what my deal was because it was a hookup. So what I got for my money may not be what you are going to get for the same amount of money. Maybe it will be if you don't have dents that need to be pulled like I did. Whether I got screwed wasn't the question, you asked about a place to take your car and I said they did good work, period.

Yes but since you dont know siht about paint jobs your defenition of a good one is bullshit. And you getting a "hookup" doesnt help either since someone looking at this thread might want a ball park estimate of how much it would cost to paint their car based on the persons suggestion of shop to get it painted at. So buddy you were no help at all with your response so i suggest you delete everything you said from your first response to this thread til now.

To everyone else feel free to chime in on your suggestions of a good paint shop along with the paint, quaility level, and price. Thanks
