quick question... i'm looking into getting a gixxer 600 towards the summer and was just wondering about how much you all spent on gear? i definitely love myself enough to rather spend less on the bike and get better gear.

 

Mine came to about a tad over $500 (cause of tax). My gloves were $100, Helmet was $180 and Jacket was $220. I still want to get some pants, but that IMO wont be important until later. I need boots as well, but i have timbs, so they will suffice for now i guess. The Icon Motorhead boots look hot. I want boots i can rock even if im not riding, and they seem to look pretty good.

 

I've probably got an easy $2,000 in gear not counting my first set-up which was a little more, but my new stuff was half-way paid for by the insurance company and I went with a little more affordable stuff but still quality gear, I have a couple other helmets for passengers and a set of gloves and jacket for riding in the rain that I didn't list but its all cheap stuff, and I could actually have spent quite a bit more, but you can also get set up with a decent helmet, jacket, gloves and boots for a little over $500, so basically sky is the limit on how much you want to spend, but be looking to have atleast $500 set aside seperate from what you plan to spend on the bike itself, don't expect the bike you find to come with gear, and even if it does expect it not to fit you, if it does then cool you've got extra money but if not you want to be ready, you can always sell it on e-bay and recoupe some of your money...

to get started if you don't want to be in the 1,000$ range, wait nevermind, I'm gonna make a like Gear 101 thread, read that when its up, should be soon

is that your bike in the background? i have an f4i for the track but haven't gotten it out there yet, do you do trackdays? i think i'm going to be at VIR april 4th

i will definetly do the D&D track day in May at VIR. I've already told my buds I was going.

I don't know if i'll be going to the track anytime between now and the D&D track day.
It all depends on my budget and when my cousins and friends wants to go.
