As far as the 90* bends......who cares......the exhaust mani on a FD is a fuckin maze of bends and trap doors. If it can get out effectively on that thing......side exit ports shouldn't be a problem (IMO)
I didn't even think about the lack of overlap forcing more air through the manifold. I wonder how long until a RENESIS gets put into something other than a RX8?

This April is when Hall says they're going to receiving the first orders. There will be NO showroom models. I was told they'll be under $31,500 for the most expensive options.

i know it was....and i already said im real late. but.....about the intake ports......not saying your wrong fastx7 but.....there was a huge article in the new science monthly (school mags) souly on the new rotory and it did say that the intake port used to be on the wall of the chamber like the exauhst port but now they increased the size and now its located the same way as the exausht port. im gonna go check to verify that tho.

Aaron is right on this. The intake port is on the side housing, where it has always been (except race only peripheial ported engines). The new Renesis engine has moved the exhaust ports to the side housing as well (used to be on the rotor housing)

The motor you're describing, where the intake and exhaust are both on the rotor housing, is called a "periphial port" (sp?). It's a great race motor, but from what I've heard, it's horrible on the street.

The intake ports were moved to the side decades ago, the exhaust ports were changed in the renesis from peripherial to side.
