The ends are the same except the 70-73 comes all the way back to the edge of the 1/4 and the 74-81 are cut at an angle for the taillights. You can run the newer one with no problem it will just look a lil weird from the side, but 90% of the general population won't notice the difference.

I'm no help identifying the heads or the block.
A 70's TransAm or Firebird is on my project list ( black and gold). I've been looking at them for a little while now but haven't quite decided how much I want to spend on the initial purchase. Obviously the more spent initially, the less work will need to be done. I'm not a fan of body work so I don't want to start with one that will need a bunch of sheet metal work. I think I'm looking for one that needs a motor/ trans and or interior completed/ re-done. I don't want to buy a completed one either as I have found I enjoy the process of building cars more fun than the completed product.

Why can't all wheels be that cheap? $800 for a set of 4 is not bad at all.
