Instead of one uniform color, how about gradually changing colors (lets say blue-green-yellow-orange-red) like the other shift lights that follow the same concept? And how do you get to develope stuff for Autometer? Lucky bastard.

I've worked with LED lighting before. They're strange. You have to cluster LEDs together to get bright light. Imagine 4 LEDs in a group spaced apart a half inch from each other, now take those same LEDs and group them together as tightly as you can get them. The tighter group will appear more than twice as bright as the spaced out group, closer to three times as bright actually. Imagine it like this- You have 20 bee-bees, you throw them onto the ground so they are very far apart. Now even though there are 20 of them they are still hard to see because the individual Bee-Bee is so small correct. now take the same size bee-bee but this time only use ten. But clump those ten bee-bees as close as you can. it's gonna be a lot easier to see.

There are 2 concepts in the works , on is having all series guages come with 4 color LED's and letting the owner choose the color in which it would illuminate , the other is having single color LED's in diffirent guage series ( ones that are suited to match the best ) ... however the random changing is not an option , as you know autometer is a proffesional performance company , i dont think they would have interest in rice ( no offence ) and i dont have interest in making it either , plus you would have to cram another circut board into that 2 1/16 inch guage and thats just not possible

Couple more things I just thought of. This would make it alot more complicated but it would be awesome to have. What Im thinking is a feature that helps you match revs and what not for shifting and stuff: So that it could possibly tell what gear your in and going to and give you an indication of when your revs are matched right when you heal-toe or something... I dont think I described this well but I think youllget what Im saying.... Prolly to expensive and complicated anyway.. blah...

The ring inside is to coinside with the cobalt series ... to match the blue ... the other series will have different colored LED's ...

I somewhat get what your saying, this is just meant to be simple alternative shift light , one that will go in the pillar and like Victum said , eliminate having to drill any holes in your dash and or tape it down , also , no wires will be exposed and you can fill that god awful empty 2nd pod hole

How is that rice? I would just want it to have a better idea of what rpm range I'm in.

As far as the rev matching thing goes. Yeah, thats way to much for this application. Thats MoTech dash stuff there. Just throwin out ideas... I need more sleep...
